World Health Day is celebrated every year on 7 April, under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO). The World Health Day came into effect from April 7 1950 and each year has been dedicated by the WHO towards the achievement of the goals of the global health issue. On the day, various activities and programs are planned to create awareness and to the specific heath issue.
World Health Day 2010 will focus on urbanization and health. With the campaign “1000 cities – 1000 lives”, events will be organized worldwide calling on cities to open up streets for health activities.
