When this champion is a sportsman and when almost the whole world is watching him and his game (some of them wanting him to win, and the rest wanting the opponent to go one more step ahead and clinch the title).
A champion cried. A successful champion cried at the door of failure. Its hard to know what might be going on in his mind at that point of time, but nevertheless – he cried.
Why will a champion cry ?
When will a champion cry ?
What will happen when a champion cries ?
But !!!!!!!!
I learnt and felt a few things out of this (in)significant incident. The felt part of it might not be of much use, but this feeling along with the learnt part of it might be of some use…. for all of us!!!
If it had been any other day, I would not have given it a thought at all. But, once he was unable to talk, unable to face the crowd who cheered enthusiastically even after losing the match, it pearced hard into my mind.
I have seen what it feels like when one fails, especially in a game thats next only to one’s life.
I have seen what it feels like when one gave his everything, fighted hard enough but still couldn’t finish it successfully.
“You can always change your plan but only once you have one !!!”.
This is what i learnt. He had a plan. He tried it. He failed. But he will come back with another plan next time. May be he fails again, but he will continue having a new plan everytime.
Isn’t that the single simple thing that can drive all of us ! – Yes
Things go wrong even for the best established and for those who are at any level/position.
“Brick walls are there for a reason: they let us prove how badly we want things”.
Hope these two quotes (taken from the famous Randy Paush’s The Last Lecture) will remind us of our strengths and efforts to put it. All the best.
