Vaping has been around in the United States for going on two decades, and it has evolved massively within that time – from both a technological perspective and a societal one. It certainly seems like it’s not slowing down any time soon, so what does the future hold?
From the monetary value of the industry to the government regulation that we might expect to be put into place to the new technology we may see, we cover it all in this article.
Industry Expansion
It’s no secret that the vaping industry is worth millions. And it seems like that growth has happened overnight. One day everyone was smoking; the next, they were all vaping. Most interestingly, it’s been propelled forward by younger populations. For good or bad, they’ve adopted vaping as the new trend, and it can’t be denied that they are pushing the industry well into the green. Forecasts predict the industry will grow an impressive 30% by 2030.
If you’re left wondering what all the hype is about, give vaping a try yourself. One popular store that provides everything you need to vape is relx. Let’s move into more on the future of vaping.
Regulation
In a shock move to teenagers and vapers everywhere, the FDA banned Juuls in the USA in 2022. The popular vaping brand had taken the country (and schools!) by storm, and they were quite literally everywhere.
So, what was the FDA’s angle with that move? They’re trying to crack down on nicotine products, and given Juul’s marketing is almost directly targeted at teenagers, it’s not hard to see why they were concerned. They even rejected Juul’s appeal!
In the future, we might see even more strict crackdowns on nicotine-filled vapes to try and wean the country off its blatant nicotine addiction. But that doesn’t necessarily mean the end of vapes – remember, you can get nicotine-free vapes!
Technology
We’ve come a long way from the little cigarette-lookalike vapes of the 2000s, that’s for sure! Nowadays, you can get disposable vapes, vapes that are more pod-like than pen-like, and even vape mods that are chunkier and pack a far heavier punch.
Some probable new technology we will see in the coming years will likely relate to stronger and more long-lasting batteries, more efficient heating systems, and even the inclusion of innovative technology like being able to connect to the internet. What a time to be alive!
Innovation in Science and Society Will Propel Vaping Forward
It’s clear that vaping is here to stay – as long as the FDA allows it, that is. That being the case, we are likely to see the industry continue to grow and the usage continue to rise. The market has clearly tapped into something society loves, so expect to be surrounded by those clouds of bubblegum-flavored air for a little while longer.
You never know; you might end up with an internet-connected, health-monitoring, super-efficient vape inhaling a flavor we don’t even know exists yet in the next few years!
