Life gets busy in the hustle and bustle of work, kids and myriad other commitments, which means that finding time for a date night can be a challenge. If you and your significant other are in dire need of a break from home life, then it might be an excellent idea to sync your schedules and make a special occasion of it. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
Try Something New and Daring
When you sink into a daily routine of your career, children, school, and chores, you’re less likely to find the time to try something new or do something daring. However, if you’re looking for a romantic idea for your next date night, why not experiment and try something like a hookah bar where you can sample a variety of exotically flavored shisha tobacco, some cocktails at a new rooftop bar, or even something a bit more adrenaline pumping, such as skydiving? When you become a happily married or involved couple with a few children in the mix, your regular trips to the cinema commonly feature cartoons, animated family movies, and sharing your popcorn with small humans. While usually the beach is crowded during warm summer days, it’s a serene and peaceful haven at night. There is also a range of beaches you can drive directly on, which means you can snuggle up in your vehicle, crack open a bottle of bubbly, and enjoy nature at its finest.
Picnic
Traditionally, picnics are daytime activities that you do along with dozens of other families at local parks and gardens. They aren’t the most intimate of affairs. However, no one ever said you couldn’t picnic at night for an added touch of romance. If you fancy bucking the trend, trying something different, and stepping out of your comfort zone, then a dinner picnic may appeal. You can slave away over a stove to prepare snacks for your picnic basket, or you can pick up takeaways as a special treat. However, be sure to picnic in well-lit areas, so you benefit from the full sensory experience!
Dining Out
If you can’t remember the last time you ate at a restaurant without asking the waiter for a high chair and a child’s menu, then it might be time to book the babysitter. Sometimes, there is nothing more romantic (or freeing) than visiting your local eatery for adult conversation, a bottle of wine, and delicious food. For romance’s sake, why not make a booking at the very first restaurant you and your loved one visited? Bring back that romance for one night only.
