Forward Planning
California is a fine place to visit, and can be a fine place to live if you play your cards right. But it does have its own idiosyncrasies. If you want to be comfortable in either northern, eastern, western, or southern California, you’re going to have to make a comfortable wage. Provided you can do that, there’s a lot to recommend this sunny place.
You’ve got fine weather throughout the year, additionally you’re going to find that California has world-class amenities in all areas. From dining to entertainment to education, top-tier offerings reside in California. And there is a bit of a renaissance going on as a political sea-change has begun to stir things up.
What this is leading to are better homes and communities at reduced rates. The change has yet to fully mature, but things have reached a tipping point, and it may be that getting involved in the Californian economy now could leave you ideally set for some fine business ventures going forward.
Even with the reputation that is coming to characterize the southland, there are still luxury apartments in downtown Los Angeles (on Eighth & Grand) worth considering; those referenced in the link are described this way: “Our Greenpoint-rated building offers sustainable design paired with conscious living. Whether it’s reducing your carbon footprint with our Walk Score of 98 or helping save water…making a positive influence on your environment has never been so enjoyable.”
Changing Neighborhoods
In order to design apartments of this kind, and attract the right clientele, this particular neighborhood is subject to some gentrification practices that have proven successful. One thing you’ll always find in California is that housing has a hot demand silhouetting it. People from all over the country move there to chase their dreams, and they snap up any deal they can.
And there are many who dream of living in a luxury apartment in downtown LA—for those with the gumption to make it possible, options exist; like ATELIER, which offers: “…front row seats to the vibrant transformation of Downtown Los Angeles. Surrounded by world-class entertainment, museums, galleries, and restaurants, residents can enjoy a vast array of cultural destinations and experience the rich tapestry of DTLA.”
There are quite a few experiences to be had, too. LA is one of those places that never gets old, because it’s not really possible to see all the city has to see in one lifetime. It’s 500 square miles. You can get a general sense of the city, and get to the point where you’re not going to get lost; but it’s just such a roiling megalopolis that there’s no way to take it all in throughout a lifetime.
Endless Adventure
From Orange County to Ventura Boulevard to Venice Beach to South Central, Hollywood, North Hollywood, and everywhere in between, there’s always something going on somewhere. All you have to do is seek, and you will find. Nightlife, day life, movies, productions, writers, teachers, hiking, climbing—there’s even skiing on the slopes not so far away from the metropolis itself!
If you know where the mountains and the beaches are, you can pursue winter-sports in the morning and then walk the beach by night, watching as the sun sets deep into the Pacific from some private beach in Malibu. When you wake up the next day, you can take a ride east of town and explore the vast unchanging desert of southern California.
There are many things to do in this most populous of states, and many things to see. If you want adventure and fine living, you can certainly find it in DTLA.
