Leh – Khardung La (the highest motorable road in the world) – Diskit – Nubra Valley
Leh – Kargil – Dras – Srinagar – Jammu
2300 Km, 11 Days, 2 Bikes and Lots of fun !
(Trying to put some of the memories and feelings that I had in my trip to leh).
It might just be a 10 day tour for some, but for me , it is something else entirely. Its a journey. A seemingly endless ride encompassing many dimensions some of which, we might not even realize are present.
May be it looks like, the inspiration or the final trigger for making such kind of a trip came from movies/stories like the Motorcycle Diaries and Gamyam (telugu), its more more than a simple tour of places.
The serene bueaty that i kept on seeing/watching for the 11 days was beyond any words, an unexplainable sensation.
So pure, so serene, the virgin earth untouched by any of our day-to-day pollutions – its Planet Himalayas !
The Roads were bad – so are We ! The Weather is tough – so are We !
Thats what was rolling in my mind riding through those unfamiliar turns on the ‘high’ ways.
I may not be on the Everest, but definitely i was on some of the highest roads on the earth (Khardung la – The Highest Motorable Road in the world..)
On one side, its a valley as deep as your eyesight can go and on the other side its a huge snow clad mountain as high as the sunlight coming from.
Moonlight on one side, its snow white on the other,
a tent on the side of the river, with a pleasant cold breeze on top of our arms…A once in a life time opportunity.
….To be Continued… till then, Enjoy some of the best pics….really the best !!!!
