It’s always important to spend time taking care of yourself, especially during these unbelievable times. Sometimes you just need a night where you switch off from the rest of the world and allow yourself to unwind. From popping on your favourite pyjamas to picking just the right film – there’s plenty you can do to help yourself.
Get Cosy
First things first: the perfect autumn night in is all about being cosy. So you’ll want to grab your ladies nightwear, your favourite pair of slippers, and several blankets. There’s nothing quite as relaxing as being tucked up inside while you hear the rain against the window. You can be smug and snug knowing you won’t have to go out and face the elements anytime soon.
Set the Atmosphere
Next up is the room you’ll be spending the night in. Close the curtains to create your own little world. Switch off the big light and turn on a couple of your lamps. Remember when it comes to your evening lighting – less is more. If you want to make things extra cosy, light a scented candle. You could reat yourself by investing in one with a wooden wick for a soothing, atmospheric, crackle. You can treat so many of your senses all at the same time.
What to Watch
Whether you’re worn out from watching the news or are simply sick of your current binge-viewing – you need to take the time to pick a film or show you’ll enjoy. There are lots of highly-anticipated dramas set to be released over the next couple of months, so you could try them. Or if you fancy something light and fluffy there’s no shame in flicking on one of your old favourites films. It’s a good idea to pick what you’re watching in advance so you don’t waste time scrolling through all of your streaming services.
Treat Yourself
Finally, what’s an evening in without some snacks? If you’re feeling inspired by the season, you could follow some autumn-inspired recipes. You can curl up with a cuppa and a piece of crumble. Or a glass of wine and some chocolate. It’s all about what you’re in the mood for and what you find the most comforting. What’s your favourite food to have for a night in?
We’re currently living through impossibly hard times, so you should take any chance you get to have a cosy night and take care of yourself. What’s your perfect autumnal evening in?
