Your living space can be a huge factor in how well you live your everyday life. It is the place where you can go and unwind at the end of a long day and it’s the safe haven that you can call your own.
This is why it’s important to be able to choose where you live wisely, as it makes up a good chunk of where you spend your time. How exactly do you go about making an important life decision? Well, one definitely solid way to go about it is taking into account your personality traits and seeing how it would fare in different living situations. Of course, budget and availability are also factors when it comes to choosing your living space, but for now, let’s look at personality specifically.
The Single Room Apartment

The single room apartment is ideal for fiercely independent introverts. What do we mean by this? We mean you like your own personal space and ideally, you’re able to pay your own bills and afford living in a single room apartment.
Introverts value their time, not to mention a quiet and peaceful place where they can recharge, and as we all know, that’s an important part of recovering from intense social interactions for people with introvert tendencies.
Single room arrangements also give you the option of not having to work around the desires of others and having to constantly compromise. This allows for introverted personalities to have better peace of mind. While it’s not always easy to find your perfect spot, the single room apartment is one to consider.
The High Rise
High rise apartments have a stunning city view. And if you’re one that appreciates the finer things in life and have extrovert tendencies, then it might just be the ideal living arrangement for you (notice I said ideal, of course, other variables always count in making a living decision).
High rise apartments have the tendency to be more on the costly side, so there is that to consider. But besides that, when living in a high rise apartment, the perks can far outweigh the cons. The views are stunning, as we’ve said, the location is almost always amazing and close to anything you might need, not to mention the added amenities that are always on site ready for you to use whenever you want.
There will also usually be great parking arrangements because of the price you’re paying to stay there. That might mean underground or sheltered parking for your car, which is always a plus.
The Roommate Setup

As we move on, say you are more of a flexible person and don’t mind splitting costs, you’re easy going and wouldn’t mind sharing your living space with another tenant. This is when the roommate setup can be ideal for your specific personality type.
Usually more tolerant and laid back people are the ones that don’t mind the roommate setup, whether that means living with two or three other people. The biggest advantage of this setup is probably how little you’ll have to spend to maintain your place. On top of that, the extra company can be a plus, especially if you really like the people that you’re spending time with.
The Studio
Lastly, we have the studio apartment. This one is ideal for the loner who also doesn’t have a lot of money to spend, doesn’t have a lot of things, and doesn’t mind small spaces. This living arrangement is also ideal for introverts, because it gives them their own space to be able to recharge and think on their own time.
The biggest perks about studios is that you can get privacy and the prices are generally not that bad. On top of that, you definitely get final say in how you want to decorate your own small space. The only problem is studios aren’t very comfortable for having gatherings or having lots of friends over. But you can always accommodate big party plans elsewhere.
Choose Your Living Space Wisely
Choosing your living space wisely can make the difference between a completely stressful living arrangement and one that is peaceful and as close to ideal as possible and that is the right choice for you.
While there are many factors to consider, personality can be a big one, because it’s definitely not something you can change overnight. Not to mention, depending on your personality type, there is always a chance you’ll clash with roommates if you don’t choose wisely. Happy apartment hunting!
