Where is Bansko
Bansko is one of the most fascinating winter resorts in Europe, and it is located in Bulgaria. The size of the town is not impressive, but its old-time appearance that is preserved from the Revival period of the country, together with the modern skin centers that excite every passionate skier and snowboarder, make the town unique.
Bansko is a bridge between the old and modernistic; here are mixed the memories of the unforgettable cultural figures who lived in the town during the Bulgarian Revival Period, as well as the outstanding achievements of the contemporary athletes from the sports events that are held in the town every year.
Bansko is nestled at the foot of one of the most magnificent mountains in Bulgaria – Pirin Mountain, and is at an altitude of 928 meters. The distance between the town of Bansko and the capital of Bulgaria is only 150 km, so if you travel by plane to the city of Sofia, then you can get to the town of Bansko for less than 2 hours by car.
