Backpacking requires you to be on your feet for hours at a time. And especially with a heavy backpack on your back, it makes it extremely challenging. You can go out on a two-week backpacking trip and come back with thousands of memories and be 6 pounds lighter. Backpacking trips can make you shed those extra fats that you have been wanting to lose.
Cycling:
If you are some who loves to run then cycling is the best alternative activity for you. As we all know running is a very high impact exercise. The amount of stress it creates on your joints is immense. If you are a regular runner then you know you need to go through at least a couple of injuries a year by running. However, cycling is a very high-intensity workout but at the same time, it has a low impact on your joints. You can cycle regularly without hurting your joints.
Not only that, running can take you so far. Meaning, by running you can explore your city, but not to the extent which you can do by cycling. It means, if you suffer from joint pains you are likely to face no issue at all swimming. Howeve,r do not undermine the effort it take to swim. Swimming is considered one of the best form of cardio. You are likely to burn a lot of calories whilst swimming. And the best part is you don’t have to worry about the weather to enjoy swimming. With other activities you have to peek outside to see whether it will rain or if the weather is too cold. Nowadays indoor swimming pools come with heating solution to keep you warm and have roof on top to save you from rain!
