On April 10, Right at Home Realty Inc. announced its acquisition of the assets of Your Choice Realty, a real estate firm with a roster of more than 450 realtors that serves markets in the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, Barrie, Hamilton, and Burlington. The acquisition aligns with Right at Home Realty’s stated goal of expanding its presence throughout Ontario and maintaining its position as the fastest-growing independent real estate brokerage in Canada. Your Choice Realty was founded in 2010 and became one of the larger real estate brokerages in Ontario.
Right at Home Realty has a team of more than 4,500 realtors, and the plan for the acquisition will be for Your Choice Realty’s sales personnel and members of the management team to join Right at Home Realty.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the members of YCR to our team,” said John Lusink, president and broker of record for Right at Home Realty, in a statement from the firm. “We’re very excited with our expansion outside of the GTA and into other markets in Ontario. In fact, our expansion strategy is just getting started, as we are actively engaged in exploring opportunities outside the GTA.”
John Lusink and other senior management staff at Right at Home Realty believe that the acquisition of Your Choice Realty will further establish Right at Home Realty’s position as one of the preeminent real estate brands in Canada, both now and in the future.
The leadership of Your Choice Realty similarly saw the benefits of the transaction and felt that it was a natural fit. “We couldn’t be more pleased to be joining the Right at Home Realty team,” said Jan Wrobel, president of Your Choice Realty, in a statement. “We saw this opportunity as a great fit, given the similarities in our business models. In a previous interview, John Lusink discussed some of those Right at Home Realty resources that Wrobel highlighted. “As an independent brokerage, it is a nimble, dynamic firm that has excellent resources, which are some of the best-kept secrets – ongoing free training, great open area offices, our own call centre, staff in every office who focus on assisting agents and customers and (they) don’t have to worry about answering calls,” he said.
