As they say first impressions matter and it’s essential for you to go to an interview looking your best. How you will represent yourself in the way you dress, the shoes you wear, how you walk and even the cologne you wear might affect the outcome of the interview. Ensure that you present yourself the best way instead of waiting for the second time when your visa application is rejected.

  • Inappropriate answers

You should make sure that you are well prepared for the interview so that you will not give improper and incorrect answers. If you are not familiar with some of the questions which are asked in the interview, you will end up providing incorrect answers to the officials. That’s why it’s necessary for you to research and know the common visa interview questions ahead before you go for the interview.

  • Giving incorrect answers and evading some questions

The interview conducted during the visa application process is just a way for the visa officials to clarify the information which you provided in the visa application form. The officials want to determine whether the information which you provided is correct. Trying to evade the questions won’t help you at all and also giving false information might lead to the application being ejected. The officials will reconfirm all the information which you provided.

  • Irrelevant information

Stick to answering the question which you have been asked in the visa interview. Don’t give unrelated information which the officials have not asked you. Also, make sure that you understand the question thoroughly before answering it. The visa officials don’t have enough time to listen to unnecessary information which they haven’t asked you about. Give clear and accurate answers to the questions which you have been asked.

  • Lack of keeping time

When you are called for a visa interview, the consulate will communicate the time and date beforehand. Try to make sure that you arrive early at the embassy early to avoid being late. For instance, if you are going for the interview in the Australian embassy the gates are usually opened by 6;00 am so you won’t have an excuse of being late. If you are residing far away from the embassy, it’s advisable that you book a hotel which is close to the consulate to reduce the chances of being late.

Preparing early for an interview is essential. Make sure that you presentable, avoid giving unnecessary answers, don’t be late, know the common questions which re-asked, and avoid providing irrelevant answers.
