Encased with towering mountains of San Juan, Ouray is a Southern Colorado mountain pulled right from a storybook. Surrounded by the dramatic mountain ranges of the most picturesque mountain towns of America, Ouray has 7,792 ft of elevation.

Trek Bear Creek Falls:
Nestled with towering mountains, beer creek is one of the most stunning places to start your adventure. The pretty waterfall and the scenic view of the cliff lining will make a perfect cliff for bikers and horseback riders. The trail begins from the end of South Pine Street and will head uphill to a sign marking the beginning of Bear Creek Preserve. As you climb up, the scenery will gradually improve offering a great view of the dramatic cliff to enhance your climb.
Hike to Perimeter Trail:
This runs along the upper perimeter of the Ouray. To head to this trail, drive South right of the town and start moving along the signs that say “Box Canyon.” Amidst the trial, you will witness hydroelectric dam, old cabins, rushing river, a crystal clear lake and panoramic view of the place. While most of the Ouray trails lead to Perimeter Trail, the most popular entrance of it is Ice Park Trailhead. There’s an unpaved area at the bottom of the hill where you can park vehicles and then walk up to the hill.
Soak at Box Canyon:
Get set to experience the unforgettable experience of Box Canyon trailhead from the Third Street Downtown Ouray. There’s also a Box Canyon Park offers you the outstanding, picturesque experience. At the back of the Park, there is a Box Canyon waterfall, that rushes into the canyon. You can sit there and listen to the soothing sound of rushing water.
There’s a staircase on the outside of the canyon, that leads to the mountain, offering an amazing view of mountains.
Witness Animas Forks Ghost Town:
Situated at the 12 miles from the town of Silverton, Colorado, the place was the home to 50 different structures, including a saloon, post office, and a general store. However, today, it’s just a collection of old and abandoned buildings, and thus called the ghost town.
Lavishing Historical Western Hotel:
The Saloon and the Historic Western Hotel first opened in 1891 and has been serving people since then. There’s 12 classic rooms, two suites in the three-story white building of the hotel. The original molding, carved ceilings, historical features and the leaded windows with stained glass gives the building a vintage gleam. Head to the hotel’s restaurant and enjoy the drink at the original bar.
